George Cleatis Rigney

George Cleatis Rigney, age 77 of Rocky Mount died Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born January 30, 1937 a son of the late Sam and Lillie Hodges Rigney. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roy "Buster" Rigney, Charles Wayne Rigney, Arthur "Peanut" Rigney; sister, Virginia Foley; nephew, Troy Foley; niece, Sandra Rigney. Mr. Rigney retired from Lane Furniture Company and was a member of Henry Fork Church of the Brethren. Surviving are two brothers, Clyde Rigney and Sam Rigney; sister, Nancy Thompson, brother-in-law, Alvin Foley, nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rigney Family Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Henry Fork Church of the Brethren. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Nancy Thompson, 1380 Goldmine Road, Glade Hill, Virginia 24092.
