George Roosevelt Sloan (Buck), age 76 of Boones Mill died Tuesday, November 18, 2008.
He was born October 13, 1932 a son of the late George Thomas and Edith Mae Yopp Sloan.
Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife Pauline Sloan; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Mark Stout; son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Christine Sloan; sisters, Esther Huffman, Boones Mill, Lillie Amos, Rocky Mount; brother Robert Sloan, Roanoke; two grandchildren, Tabitha Sloan and Jamie Sloan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 with Rev. J. Willard Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Yopp Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
