George Harrison Treadway, Jr.

George Harrison Treadway Jr., 91 of Martinsville,VA and formerly of Rocky Mount,VA passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011. He was born May 29, 1919 in Fayatte County, West Virginia a son of the late George and Ida Treadway,Sr. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister; two wives; Ollie Kidd and Lenore Jarrett. He was the last surviving sibling of his family. Mr. Treadway was an active member of AA for over 20 years. He is survived by his children; Rita Arritt (Michael), Gary Treadway (Linda), Brenda Smith (William), Dottie Stump (Ronnie), Eva Jane Buttrick, Pam Moore (Larry), George Treadway III (Cynthia), Nova Inman (Leeroy), Helbert Treadway (Cindy), 30 Grandchildren, 35 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren, special friend and caregiver, Judy Treadway and family ,George Riddle and a host of other family and special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday April 3, 2011 at Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carlos Lewis and Rev. Bennie Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to Hospice of Franklin County. His family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 P.M. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
