George Wayne Young

George "Wayne" Young, age 90 of Rocky Mount, VA, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 3, 2015. Wayne departed this life at Franklin Healthcare, Rocky Mount, VA. He was a member of Fork Mountain United Methodist Church. Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Fannie Jane Young; his parents; Jessie and Lura Young; sisters, Hildreath Young, Myrtle McGhee, Bernice Mullins, Ruth Joyce, and Frances Witt; brothers, Navie Young and Dennis Young. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Leona Poff; sons, Leon Young (Dorenda), Dwight Young (Hope); his grandchildren, Chad Young (Lauren), Chance Young (Mandi); a step-grandson, Bradley Hodges (Laurie); six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Franklin Healthcare for their services and care during his illness. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lynn Bechdolp officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
