Gerald Edward "Ed" Drane

Gerald Edward Drane, 79 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Davis & McDaniel Veterans Center following a long illness. Born in Jackson, MS, as the fifth of eight children. Gerald had a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an aircraft mechanic. He is survived by two brothers, Bill and Becker; and four sisters, Mary Ellen, Gertie, Josie, and Cathy. A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 12 noon Friday, July 10, 2026. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
