Gerald Lee Kendrick “Floottie” joined his loved ones in heaven on February 13, 2016. He was born June 16, 1951 at his home place in Rocky Mount. He was the son of Rachel Handy and the late Gerald Lanier Kendrick. He leaves behind his wife and soul mate of 34 years Sandra Kendrick “Pinkie”, two daughters, Katie and Angie, two sons, Jessi Chance and Shawn, seven grandchildren, Chase, Hunter, Courtney, Cody, Chance, Austin and C.J., two great-grandchildren, Casey and Alexander, three brothers, Bobby, J.C, and Timmy, two special uncles, Buford and Danny, A special aunt, Joyce, numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Floottie is preceded in death by his brother Sammy, nephew Robbie, father Gerald and many more family members and the best group of friends he could ever ask for. Floottie loved life. He had a passion for riding his Harley, he loved horses, golfing, being outside, riding his motorcycle, fishing and more than anything he loved his family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, an “out of this world” father and a dedicated brother and friend. He was also very proud to have served in the United Stated Marine Corp. His family would like to thank everyone for the outstanding amount of support shown. Donations may be made to assist with final expenses. The family wishes to thank Huddleston Life Savings Crew for their all of their efforts. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Flora Funeral Chapel, Rocky Mount, VA.
