Geraldine Flora Saul, age 80 of Roanoke passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009.
She was born November 20, 1928 a daughter of the late Marvin B. and Rose Etta Minnix Flora. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Saul, Jr.; brothers, Buford and Melvin Flora; and sister, Bethel Ash.
Mrs. Saul was a graduate of Boones Mill High School and lifelong member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her son, John A. Saul III and daughter-in-law, Judy Hawks, Roanoke; daughters, Sheryl S. Carr, Roanoke and Rosetta S. Anderson and son-in-law, Kevin Anderson, Durham, N.C.; grandchildren, Gerald Carr, Lynda Carr, Thomas Anderson, Kevin Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Huldah Flora; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Special thanks and appreciation to the staff of South Roanoke Nursing Home and Lewis-Gale Hospital for their care and concern.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, 2363 Brick Church Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
