Gertrude Green Owen

Gertrude Green Owen “Trudy”, age 91 of Salem, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was born June 2, 1929 in Algoma, Franklin County, VA. She lived most of her life in Callaway, with the last six years in the care of Richfield Living in Salem. Trudy was a member of Fairmont Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Melvin Lee Owen; and brothers, Shelby Green and Fred Green. Surviving are her four children, Bobby (Rhonda) of Christiansburg; Randy (Delana) of Nashville, Tennessee and their children Olivia and Silas; Richard (Rebecca) of Reston, Virginia and their son Carson, and Regina Owen Valerio (Paul) of Congers, New York; sisters, Mary Pennell (Howard) and Patricia Bass (David); and sisters-in-law, Rebecca Green and Helen Green. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park (Boones Mill), 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 with Chaplain Gary Kingery officiating.
