Gladys P. Anderson

Gladys P. Anderson, age 85 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Anderson; parents, Oakie and Gracie Pugh; step-mother, Ethel Thurman Pugh; sister, Esther Pugh; and son-in-law, Lee Bibbs. Surviving are her son, Henry Lewis Anderson; daughter, Sharon Bibbs; sister, Betty Ann Pugh; grandchildren, Russon Bibbs (Nicole), Ashlee Zahner (Chad); and great-grandchild, Truett Bibbs. Gladys retired from Franklin County Public Schools with many years of service. She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved her community and helping others. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Flint Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Christopher Kingery officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Flint Hill UMC. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” –Matthew 25:21.
