Gladys Bussey

Mary Gladys Young Bussey, age 86 of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 26, 2012. She was born October 27, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Bussey, her parents Milton and Una Young and a brother Buford T. Young. Gladys was a faithful member of Fairview Church of the Brethren. She taught Sunday School for many years and was loyal friend and mentor to many she met. She was employed by J.P. Stevens for over 40 years. Surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law, Myrtle Burgess, Hazel Burgess, Ruth and Buren Austin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Etta Young, David and Juanita Young; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Many thanks to her church family and those who gave care and helped Gladys. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Fairview Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jeff Wray officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairview Church of the Brethren Building Fund, in care of Thomas Young, 60 Belmont Drive, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151.
