Gladys Jeraldine "Gerry" Hodges

Gladys Jeraldine “Gerry” Hodges, age 78 of Glade Hill, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Gladys Hodges; brother, William Hodges; and sisters, Joyce Moody and Linda Hodges. Gerry was a member of Doe Run Christian Church where she served in different capacities through the years. She was strong in her faith and loved her church and church family. Gerry loved her family and spent her life caring for them. She also babysat over 40 children in her lifetime some of which came back to visit, bringing their own children. Gerry enjoyed sending cards to encourage or lift someone’s spirits. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, W. Allen Hodges; daughter, Kathy Hodges (Mike); son, Don Hodges (Kristie); seven grandchildren, Cristy, Collins, Christopher, Nikki, Logann, Abigail and Jared; five great-grandchildren, Phillip, Lucas, Jacob, Palmer and Hayden; one great-great-grandchild, Lillian; brother, Jackie Hodges; brothers-in-law, Gerald Hodges (Mary), Kenneth Hodges (Terry) and Tommy Hodges (Linda); several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Doe Run Christian Church, 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 with Pastor Mike Stump officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Doe Run Christian Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
