Glenn Lloyd Clingenpeel

Glenn Lloyd Clingenpeel, age 79 of Boones Mill, Va. died peacefully Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Lewis Gale Hospital with his family beside him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd M. and Velma B. Clingenpeel and his sister, Velma Jo Stanton. He is survived by his wife, Judy R. Clingenpeel of Boones Mill, Va. one son, Patrick Lloyd Clingenpeel and family Beth Greene and her daughter Katie, granddaughters Meredith Noelle and Chloe Jane Clingenpeel, all of Boones Mill, one brother Richard Clingenpeel Rocky Mount, Va. also surviving is one niece, Emily Stanton of Pilot, Va. and one nephew, Howard Stanton of Pittsboro, NC, numerous cousins and close family members. Glenn was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren where he served on various committees. Glenn worked for the State Highway Dept. for 20 years. He returned to the family dairy farm in 1973, and ran the family farm until 2003 when he changed the farm to a beef cattle operation. He was a member of the Callaway Ruritan Club. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Antioch Church of the Brethren or Callaway Ruritan Club. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 29, 2011 at Antioch Church of the Brethren with Pastor Eric Anspaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
