Glenn Lee Reed

Glenn Lee Reed, age 70 of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1951 to Mary Jane (Mines) and Roy Lee Reed. He was one of five children that grew up in Covington, VA. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Jane (Mines) Reed; and his caring sister, Earlene Gail (Reed) Creamer. He is survived by his father, Roy Reed; his only son Adam Reed (Julie); his beloved grandson, Adam Reed Jr.; his brother, Raymond Reed (Shelley); his sisters, Mary Sorensen and Laura Hise (Junior); his treasured nieces and nephews, Tonya Phillips; Jessica Dotson; Kania Reed; Michele Vadovinos; Nicole Pelcic; Christian Sorensen; Anthony Creamer; Michael Creamer; Bradley Hise; and Jennifer Hise; and many great- nieces and great-nephews. Glenn enjoyed calling his father and family every day. He loved cars, history, reading, his westerns, and nature. He loved it all so much that he bought his dream home at the base of Bent Mountain in Roanoke, VA. in 1991. Glenn stayed there for 30 years, living his dream of working on cars and enjoying what the wildlife had to offer. When his health started to decline, he moved to Franklin County with his son and family. He got to see his grandson get off the bus every day. He really enjoyed that. The family would like to thank nurses, Wendy and Amanda, at Carillion Franklin Memorial Hospital and all the great staff in the ICU, for their undeniable compassion with Glenn in his final days. There will be no services per Glenn’s last wishes as he was a simple man, but he was an avid supporter for the Arbor Day Foundation.
