Glenn Richard Wertz

Glenn Richard Wertz, age 92 of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday morning, October 29, 2013. He was born May 24, 1921, a son of the late Archie D. Wertz and Mamie Littrell Wertz, and was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Glenn was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Melva Flora Wertz, two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn R. Wertz II and Jeanette, Forest, Wayne and Sylvia Wertz, Rocky Mount, two grandchildren and spouses, Brett and Christi Wertz, Kelly and Chris Workman, two great-grandchildren, Dominic Wertz and Austin Workman, numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at Antioch Church of the Brethren, 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 with Pastor Eric Anspaugh officiating. Interment will be private in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the D-Day Memorial in Bedford.
