Gloria Brooks Dillon

Gloria Brooks Dillon, age 81 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Gloria was born January 25, 1934 and was the youngest child of the late Thomas B. Brooks, Sr. and Mary Lawless Brooks. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walter Buford Dillon. Surviving are her two sons, Walter Thomas "Tommy" Dillon and Edward "Brent" Dillon; daughters-in-law, Paula Marlin and Casey Dillon; eight grandchildren, Brooke Dillon, T.J. Dillon, Emmaleigh, Christopher Dillon, Trevor Dillon, Delanie Dillon, Ryan McIntosh, Kourtney McIntosh; many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Gloria enjoyed doing color analysis and working at Rexall Drug in Rocky Mount where she made many friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital and Hospice. Special thanks to Eugene Huff and Melenda. Gloria always considered Eugene family. Also thanks to her caregivers, Lynn, Harrison and Glenda Dooley. Funeral services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
