Glynn Lee Dudley Sr., 81, of Rocky Mount, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2015. Glynn was born on December 23, 1933 in Rocky Mount, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Phil Titus and Annie E. (Chitwood), Dudley; and one daughter, Sharon L. Tolley, and three brothers, Phil T., Tillman, and Lynn Dudley Sr., three sisters, Lorraine Dowdy ,Gerlea Jenneys, and Martha Crook . He was a loving and giving father and granddaddy. Surviving are his two daughters and one son, Joanne (Wayne) Gill, Glenda (Terry) McDaniel, Glynn L.(G.L.) Dudley Jr. Also five grandchildren, Christopher (LeAnne) Gill, Brooke Gill, Alex McDaniel, Steven McDaniel, Glynn L (Tres) Dudley III; four great grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Rachael and Gracie Gill. One half-brother, Johnnie (Pauline) Brooks and many nephews and nieces. A special family member, Lorraine St.Clair. He cherished serving the Lord as a member of Henry Fork Church of the Brethren. Glynn grew up knowing hard work and determination on a farm raising tobacco and dairy cows. These life lessons served him well as he started work as a ground level employee at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and rose to a managerial position before retiring. Mr. Dudley took his self-learned sales experience and went on to manage his own convenience store in Wirtz, VA . He was owner and manager of Franklin Mobile Homes Sales and Long Branch Mobile Park. The family would like to convey our appreciation to Pastor Ronald Coleman for his spiritual support, Dr. Keeley for being a highly proficient physician that treats his patients with respect , dignity and as a fellow human being, and to the home caregivers that stayed with us till our father made his way to his heavenly home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Dudley Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Henry Fork Church of the Brethren. His family will be receiving friends 6-8 on Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation, Rocky Mount Va.
