Golden Odell Powell

Golden Odell Powell, age 86 of Rocky Mount passed away at home on Monday, December 9, 2013. Mr. Powell was born on May 5, 1927 in Fincastle, VA a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Powell. He served in the United States Army in Germany following WWII. He married Nancy Jean Pendleton in 1955. A humble and Godly man, he was a faithful member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years; one brother and sister of Roanoke, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Roger Glick; and seven grandchildren that he loved dearly. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 with Rev. Richard Thomas and Rev. Curtis English officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
