Goldie Hatcher Bowling, age 87 of Ferrum went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 3, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. (Peg) and Mae Hatcher; one brother, Archie Hatcher; one sister, Nona Hatcher; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Shively.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, J.O. (Ottis) Bowling; two sons, Bruce (Linda) Bowling and Wayne (Margie) Bowling; three daughters, Bonnie (Roger) Shively, Jane (Roger) Hodges and Robin (Bev) Whitmer; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dot (Roy) Wray, Eva Burnett, Irene (Bill) Burnett, Vivian (Wayne) Pugh; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Dr. William Shively and Pastor Terry Covey officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Her family will be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
