Goldie Peters Brogan, age 91 of Oak Level died Thursday, April 19, 2012. She was born July 31, 1920 daughter of the late Haynous and Virgie Peters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Mawyer Brogan; daughter, Gloria Jean Piechota; three brothers; and three sisters. Goldie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, VA and later Oak Level Baptist Church of Oak Level, VA. Surviving are her son, James Arnold Brogan of Timberlake, NC; grandchildren, Ryan Piechota of Norcross, GA, Matthew Brogan of Cary, NC, Mark Brogan of Durham, NC, Melody Nobles of Raleigh, NC; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruby James of Rocky Mount, VA. Graveside services will be conducted from Maple Grove Cemetery 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Adam Woods officiating. A lunch will follow in the church social hall. Her family will receive friends at the home, 161 Oak Ridge Drive, Oak Level on Friday. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
