Gonzalo "Charlie" Rios

Gonzalo “Charlie” Rios, 72, died unexpectedly at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on May 28, 2021. Born December 24th,1948 in La Paz, Bolivia, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1965. The majority of his professional life was spent in the Northern Virginia area, where he met the love of his life, Patsey. The two married after a six-month courtship, and they recently celebrated 44 years of marriage.

An entrepreneur, he owned multiple auto repair shops. He loved cars and had a passion for all things mechanical. He was a sports enthusiast and history buff, but foremost, his family was his greatest accomplishment.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Patsey Drew Rios; son Daniel Rios; daughter Victoria Daniels and her husband Wayne, and four granddaughters, Alexandra, Georgia, Rilee, and Isabella; daughter Patricia Sarah Rios Hodshire, and two grandchildren, Andrew and Gabriella; his sister, Jenny Rios-Rocha, and nieces, Jeanine Babyak and Jacqueline Richardson; brothers Erick, Edwin, and Richard. Gonzalo was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria J. Rocha and father, Erick Rios-Bridoux Solares.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
