Gordon Hodges

William Gordon Hodges, age 85, born March 3, 1929 of Rocky Mount, Va. God had his arms open calling another angel home while being surrounded by his loved ones at his home on June 5, 2014. Gordon was in pulp wood business for many years, then he started his well drilling business Gordon Hodges and Son Well Drilling. He was preceded in death by his parents Zack and Mamie Hodges and two brothers; Paul and Taylor. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Louise Hodges, his son Don Hodges (Diane), his daughter Jean Pagans (J.B.), grandchildren; Neil Anderson (Penny), Pam Anderson, Tina Franklin (Ricky), Tiffany Mountcastle (David) many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his very special devoted brothers, B.K. Hodges, Dan Hodges, Palmer Hodges; his sisters Jean Ferguson, Sandra Arrington, Bobbie Holcomb and Carol Strickler; many sisters and brothers-in-law. Funeral service will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014 with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
