Gracie Cannaday Via, 89, of Salem, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018. Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge and Lotti Cannaday; her loving husband of 58 years, Tom; brother, Winfred Cannaday and wife Helen; brother, Joe Cannaday; and sister, Violet Moran and husband, Art. Gracie is survived by her son Ed Via, and wife, Kim, of Roanoke; and daughter Kandis Necessary and husband, Gus, of Salem. Gracie is also survived by grandson, Joel Via, and wife, Cassie; grandsons, Noah Via, Dylan Via, and Walker Necessary; and granddaughter Rebecca Pearson and husband, Chris. Gracie also loved and adored her great-grandchildren, Liliana and Phillip Via, and Grace Ann Pearson. The Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 6, at 1:00 P.M. at Flora Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, Virginia, with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Park. The family expresses sincere thanks to all doctors, nurses, and staff of Carillion Roanoke Memorial, Gentle Shepherd Hospice, Emma Topia, Jenyfer Martinez and her Salem Terrace Family.
