Gregory Steven Hicks

Gregory Steven Hicks, age 56 of Penhook passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016. He was born in Raleigh, NC on October 24, 1960 and was preceded in death by his father, James D. Hicks, Jr.; and a brother, James D. Hicks III (Jimbo) and his grandparents. Greg grew up in Vinton and attended Staunton River High School. He enjoyed the outdoors with hunting, fishing, golfing and racing. He was also employed with John Hancock Financial. Surviving are his two children, Cameron J. Hicks and Ashlin G. Hicks; mother, Evelyn Faulkner Hicks; and sister, Evelyn D. Miller. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel, Rocky Mount.
