Grover Thomas Burgess, Sr.

Grover Thomas Burgess, Sr., age 84 of Boones Mill died Monday, December 31, 2012 at home from a long term illness. Grover is survived by his wife, Janie Burgess; their three children, Grover Thomas (Tommy) Burgess, Jr. and friend Linda, Wanda Spence and husband Doyal, Dawn Lloyd and husband Andy; his grandchildren, Christina Farr of Scotland, Deidra Nininger of Boones Mill, Tammi Jewell of Boones Mill, Stephanie Burgess of Roanoke, Justin Morris of Texas, Kyle Lloyd of Boones Mill; seven great-grandchildren, Callum and Abby Farr, Noah and Carli Nininger, Taylor, Britton and Landry Morris; brother, Jimmy Burgess; extended family, CJ Stalkaner and Nicky Radford; cousin, Pete Perdue; and lifelong friends, Joe Bryant, Roy and Lorraine Custer, Janie and Cornelius Flora, Howard and Betty Pendleton, Dickie and Genieva Anderson, Cornell and Louise Montgomery, Carlton and Quiley Hartman. Grover was preceded in death by his parents, Luster and Lillie Burgess; sisters, Lorraine Burgess and Lovella Kinsey; brother, Darrell Burgess; great-grandson, Brady Thomas Nininger. Special thanks to Beryl and Southern Care Hospice of their care and concern. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Leonard Martin officiating.
