Hanel Bowles

Hanel W. Bowles, 80 of Forest, VA was welcomed into his Heavenly home on Monday, February 19, 2018 and passed away at his residence. Mr. Bowles was a member of Mount Ivy Christian Church, Moneta, VA. He was a long time member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Rocky Mount, VA and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was employed at DuPont, Martinsville, VA for 32 years. Mr. Bowles had ten years of outstanding service as a member of the Snow Creek Rescue Squad Board of Directors from 1981 to 1991. He was a kind and gentle man and really loved the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 57 years and caregiver, Evelyn Brown Bowles of the residence; son, Terry Clifton and Shelly, Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Elwood of Martinsville, VA; three granddaughters, Olivia, Elizabeth and Angela were really special to him; numerous nieces and nephews. He really loved Patricia Brown as his own child. He was preceded in death by one still born son, 1961; parents, Frank and Belle; and two brothers, Leland and Ronald. Graveside services will be conducted by Minister Steve Pasley, Reverend Randy Bower and Mr. Eric Ferguson Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, VA.
