Harry Alfred (Al) Hall, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on January 13, 2016, spending his final hours surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters.
  
  Al was born to Harry and Myrtle Hall on May 15, 1934 in Rocky Mount, VA, the oldest of five children. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1953. After moving to Greensboro, NC, he joined the military and served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. During his time of service, he requested letters from home, which led to finding the love of his life, Daisy. They corresponded with each other until his return home in 1959. He proposed in October and they were married on November 22, 1959. They resided in Greensboro until they both retired in 2000 at which time they moved back to Rocky Mount, VA.
  
  Al loved his three daughters, his five grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. He was an avid gardener and a big sports fan. He was one of the founding members of Furnace Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
  
  Al is survived by his wife, Daisy Loftis Hall; his three daughters, Sandra (Pete) Ennever, Pat (Ken) Bumgarner and Tonya Hall; four grandchildren, Casi (Zack) Johnson, Austin Williams, Kelsey (Jon-Scott) Trexler and Alec Bumgarner and one great grand-daughter, Daisy Dare Johnson; two brothers, Buford Hall and Dewey (Lorene) Hall and one sister, Joyce (Kenneth) Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nancy Dillon and one grandson, Greyson Bumgarner.
  
  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2016 at Furnace Creek Baptist Church at 975 Scuffling Hill Road, Rocky Mount, VA with Dr. Roy L. Carter and Pastor Phillip Bramblet officiating. Burial will follow immediately at the church cemetery with military honors. Friends may visit with the family Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church; other times at the home, 970 Scuffling Hill Road. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be sent to Furnace Creek Baptist Church.
