Harry J. Cundiff, Jr.

Harry J. Cundiff Jr., age 77 of Wirtz, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Maggie Cundiff; sister, Betty Pauline Mabe; brother-in-law, Lewis Ed Brown; niece, Peggy Evans; and mother-in-law, Jacqueline Montgomery. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Montgomery Cundiff; sister, Georgia Brown; brother, Douglas (Evelyn) Cundiff;  nephews, Mike (Melissa) Preston, David (Kim) Preston and Greg (Margie) Cundiff; father-in-law, Malcolm Montgomery; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Mabe, Wayne Montgomery and Rex (Carolyn) Montgomery; uncle-in-law, Dallas Montgomery; and extended family, Lynn and Sarah Dillon, Wendy Woolf, Polly Mitchell, Jeremy Bowman, Business Associate Joey Brown (Betsy) and a close community of loving friends. He was cared for by a dedicated team of caregivers: Dr. Chaconas & staff, Betsy, Katie, Elaine, and Juanita, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice. The family respectfully requests no food or flowers. If desired, donations may be made to Burnt Chimney Volunteer Fire Department or Franklin County Humane Society. His family will receive friends at Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church (101 Elam Lane, Boones Mill, VA 24065) from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
