Harry Bernard Woods, age 94 of Ferrum died Monday, June 30, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma S. Woods; and a granddaughter, Jessica Austin.
Mr. Woods is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara W. and Charles Young; his son and daughter-in-law, H. B., Jr. and Tammy Woods, Ferrum; granddaughter, Judy Thompson and husband Billy, Ferrum; great-granddaughter, Olivia Craighead and husband Frank, Roanoke; sisters, Ruby Worley and Sylvia Spencer; brothers, Frank Woods and James (Junior) Woods; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks and appreciation to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, and to his caregivers, Carolyn, Pat and Peggy for all of the love and care given and shown to Mr. Woods and the family.
Funeral services will be conducted from St. James United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church or to the Ferrum Vol. Rescue Squad.
His family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount. www.florafuneralservice.com
