Harvie Isiah Perdue (Peck), age 79 of Union Hall, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Born May 25, 1930 to the late Harvie Hampton Perdue and Betty Blankenship Perdue. Harvie was a well known member of the community, always having a smile on his face and his hand extended in friendship to all willing to accept it. He was a “sawmill man” by trade and desire and remained active in that field until shortly before his passing. He was honored to serve his country in the US Army from 1952-1954. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Margaret; his daughter, Connie and her special friend, David Peters; a brother, Charles Perdue; sisters, Eliza (Sis) Carter, Vernie Law, Molly Holland, Hazel Zeigler, a number of nieces and nephews, also his German Shepherd, Princess. He was preceded in death by his brother Ed Perdue and sisters Vickie Holland, Fern Ferguson, and Cheryl Perdue. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
