Hazel France Meadors

Hazel France Meadors, age 89 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, April 28, 2015. She was born January 26, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph France and Martha Via France; husband of 52 years, Glee E. Meadors; sister, Ruth Weddle (Oscar); brothers, Jennings (Audrey), Bob (Lelia), Eddie (Mabel), Archie (Alice), Amos (Louise), Dalton (Evelyn), Chester (Eunice), Garfield, June (Rosemary), Winfred (Lois). Hazel was retired from E.I. DuPont and in later years as a Franklin County School Bus Driver. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Larry E. Meadors and wife Cathy of Ferrum, and Steven A. Meadors and wife Vicki of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Steven Jr., (Katlin) and Julian (Suzanne); step-granddaughter, Rebecca Whitt (Scott); and her adorable great-grandchildren, Emma, Jackson and Addyson whom she adored and cherished; step-grandsons, Brandon Davis and wife Amanda of Bradford, MA and Dr. Bradley Davis of New York, NY; and sister-in-law, Evelyn. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will be private in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the France Family Cemetery Fund, c/o Larry Meadors, 13487 Franklin Street, Ferrum, Virginia 24088. Her family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
