Helen Estelle Saul, 90, of Morrisville, NC, formerly of Roanoke and Franklin County, went peacefully to be with the Lord Monday morning, October 17, 2011, joining her husband, of 70 years, George William Saul. They were members of Belmont Christian Church and the Loyal Berean Sunday school class. She was very active as a Service Sponsor for the Christian Youth Fellowship, where she was a living example of Christianity for the youth. She served in many functions during her 65 years at Belmont, being chosen mother of the year in 1959. When her son went off to college in 1960, she went to work for General Electric. She enjoyed a very product and satisfying career of over 20 years, retiring in 1982. Several hundred of her fellow workers, family and friends held a formal dance at Hotel Roanoke to honor her and her accomplishments. Helen and George won the retirement lottery, by having 30 wonderful years together after they retired. Their life was full of activities at Belmont Christian, traveling to see their son several times a year, wherever the Navy sent him, enjoying family and wonderful neighbors. The true love of their retired life was a fantastic garden that fed the neighborhood. She was preceded in death by her father, John Saul, her mother Clara Mills Saul, her brother Harry Saul and granddaughter Jenny Saul. Surviving are her Son, Carlton; daughter-in-law Mona; sister Ester Turner, sister-in-law Nora Saul, sister-in-law Helen Saul; grandchildren from San Diego, Ca. Jeffery, Joseph and Jill; and a grandson Sascha from Morrisville, NC.; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
