Henry Finton Altice, age 91 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 6, 2013. He was born August 31, 1921 a son of the late Cabel and Alice Jamison Altice. Henry was also preceded in death by his two children, Sandra Ann Altice and Ricky Von Altice; brothers and sisters, Posey Altice, Fred Altice and Nellie York; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joyce Law, Hilda Altice, Thomas Wray, Marvin York, and Clarence Law. Surviving are his loving and devoted spouse of 66 years, Christine Altice; daughter-in-law, Patty Altice; grandchildren, Ben Altice, Nicholas Altice and fiancé, Leigh Ann Stultz, Lindsay Altice and fiancé, Timothy Tolley; special great-grandson, Chase Lee Tolley; sisters, Delma Law and Bernice Meador (Wayne); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nancy Altice, Letha Holland (Giles), Ruby Wray and Edmond Law; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his caregivers, Ruth Snead and Vestal Poff and also to his church family and friends for their care and concern. Henry was a charter member of Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren and retired from J.P. Stevens after 37 years of service. He enjoyed farming and tending to his cattle. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren, 405 Tanyard Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
