Herbert Lee Mason

Herbert Lee Mason, age 85 of Rocky Mount died on Tuesday October 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Mason; son, Sammy Mason; daughter, Phyllis Mason; and his parents, Joe and Ila Mason. He is survived by his children, Rusty Mason (Angela) and Amanda Mason-Dixon (Ricky); grandchildren, Brittany Mason, Mason Dixon, Major Mason; step-grandson, Zach Leonard; great-grandson, Blake Mason; brother, Ralph “Cotton” Mason; sister, Faye Hicks (Bobby); and papa’s little buddy, Daniel “Dink” Blackwell. Mr. Mason was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He also spent two years in the National Guard. He was a member of New Vision Baptist Church. His family will gather for a memorial service on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 3-5 p.m. at Canton Church with Pastor Joe Wooldridge officiating. Burial will be private.
