Herbert Hoover Mcbride

Herbert Hoover McBride, age 86 of Boones Mill died Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Burbie Jamison McBride; parents, Bailey and Ludie McBride; and brothers, David McBride and Willard McBride. Mr. McBride was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Boones Mill Church of the Brethren and retired from a long career at Yellow Freight. After retirement he became a full-time Papa to his granddaughters, who loved spending time with him. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Teresa Turner McBride; grandchildren, Taylor Anne and Sydney Ava McBride; brother, Allen McBride (Mary); sisters, Bernice Blankenship, Ruth Preston (Donald), Rachel Campbell (Thomas), Joyce Nichols (Don); in-laws, Hazel Harmon (Harry), Billy Guilliams, and Mary Mullins; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his nephew, Dr. Mark McBride for his extra care and concern and also Keith’s friends for their support. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Harry Shelton officiating. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
