Hilda Marie Ferguson

Hilda Marie Ferguson, age 82 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2013. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on April 19, 1931 and was preceded in death by her husband?s Paul Luther Kelly, Clyde "Tootie" Chitwood and James Ferguson; her bothers, Jim Smelser, Bob Smelser, Bill Smelser, Ward Smelser, Richard Smelser; and sister, Linda Peterson. Left behind to cherish her memory include daughter, Dana Ripley (Paul); son, David Kelly (Becky); sister, Nancy Peterson; brother, Nelson Smelser; stepchildren, Bobby Kelly, Paula Rager, Sandra Graham, Daryl Ferguson, Pam Holland, Wanda Holloway, J.B. Ferguson (deceased). A large group of nieces and nephews and an even larger group of grandchildren and great grandchildren are left to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind a very special friend, Janie Bowles. The family wishes to thank Richfield Retirement and Emeritus Cave Spring for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer?s Association of Virginia, the Ronald McDonald House of Roanoke or your favorite charity. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
