Hillie Oakes Stanley

Hillie Oakes Stanley, age 85 of Moneta, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Frances Oakes. She was a member of the Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren and was very devoted to her church and the Lord. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa S. and Bobby McNeely of Rocky Mount, and Debra K. and Russ Parkinson of Arlington, WA; one son Gene McDowell and wife Lisa of Hardy; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018, followed by service at 2:00 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel in Rocky Mount, Va. with Rev. John Collins and Rev. Mike Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Following the burial, friends and family are welcome at the McNeely home at 5300 Pleasant Hill Road, Rocky Mount, Va.
