Howard Lee Bousman, 82, of Wirtz, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008.
He was born April 22, 1926 and was a lifelong member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren. Howard was a familiar face to many in Franklin County where he worked as a milk hauler for over 50 years starting in 1947 and retiring in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Flora Angle Bousman; a sister, Gladys Bousman Fink; and a brother, Denton Curtis Bousman.
He is survived by nephews, Tony C. Fink of Wirtz, and David Bousman and his wife Chippy of Roanoke; nieces, Evelyn Fink Evans of Columbia, SC, Susan L. Fink and her husband Reggie Scolaro of Hardy, Gale Rader and her husband Jack of Troutville, VA, and Janet Whittaker and her husband Mike, Copper Hill, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Bruce Huffman at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Boones Mill, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, 2363 Brick Church Road, Rocky Mount, VA or Red Valley Rescue Squad in Boones Mill, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
