Howard Lee (Slick) Fisher, Sr. age 81 of Callaway passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012. He was born October 3, 1930, a son of the late Luther Milton and Lula Prillaman Fisher. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Masters in Dairy Science, an avid Tech fan and the last original member of “The Board”. Slick enjoyed hunting , fishing and loved bluegrass music and festivals. He was a retired dairy farmer. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his significant other, Ann Rumbough; son and daughter-in-law, Howard L. (Kip) Fisher, Jr. and Becky; daughters and sons-in-law, Whitney and Charles Dietz, Mitzi and Warren Stump; five grandchildren, Kristen and Collin Fisher, Haley and Charlsie Dietz and Brayden Stump; sister, Betsy Fisher Guilliams; former wife, Carrie Fisher; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday from Flora Funeral Chapel . Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 5-8 pm Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
