Howard Meadow Nichols

Howard Meadow Nichols “Nick”, age 84 of Moneta passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Howard was a talented painter and welder. He was retired from Standard Register and a member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Guilliams Nichols; two sons, Jerry A. Nichols and Barry Nichols; several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Virginia Nichols; son, Howard Lee Nichols; grandchildren, Wendy, Jeffrey and wife Patricia, and Chad; five great-grandsons; one sister-in-law, Mary Nichols. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Bruce Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, 2363 Brick Church Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
