Hudson Albert Studer “Chip”, age 60 of Wirtz passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. Chip was born in Massachusetts then moved to New Jersey as a very young boy. He was a devoted christian, son, husband, father and patriot. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Stone. Surviving are his father, Robert Polhemus; beloved wife, Cindy; children, Mallory, Michael and Candace; sister, Stormie Polhemus; brother, Chuck Polhemus along with his grandchildren whom he adored, Morgan, Madison, Kinley, Kai, Emma and Eli; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Kevin, Kayden and Bailey along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Chip graduated from Howell High School where he was a cross country track star and his dedication to this sport was a testament to his enduring spirit. In 1982 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served on the USS Stonewall Jackson as a sonar technician. In 1991 he suffered a spinal cord injury that left him a paraplegic, however, it didn’t slow him down. He returned shortly after and went on to achieve his Associates degree in Business from Virginia Western and a Bachelors degree from Liberty University in Religion/Theology. He continued on to write several books, made many inspirational videos, was an avid hunter, NASCAR fan and even had his own YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers, Chip expressed a desire that donations be made to the Franklin County Long Beards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation-NWTF. Your contributions will continue his spirit of giving and support to a cause he cared deeply about. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, he leaves a lasting legacy of dedication, love and service to his country, his family and above all, God. Memorial services will be held at Franklin Heights Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023 with Dr. Stan Parris and Pastor Mark Long officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior and also following services. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
