Ida Virginia Turner

Ida Prillaman Turner, age 99 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Mrs. Turner was born January 7, 1912 a daughter of the late Daniel and Virginia Prillaman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Turner; brothers, Jesse, Dan and Grady; sisters, Nannie Young, Averett Thomas and Mildred Renick; and step son-in-law, Wayne Kellam. Surviving are her step-daughter, Lois Jean Kellam; step- granddaughter, Amanda Kellam; step-great-grandchildren, Jay and Joni Mattox; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; extra “special friends” and neighbors, Clinton and Gladys Barbour; and her beloved dog, “Mandy”. Graveside services will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 11 a.m. Thursday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heavenly Manna, P.O. Box 392, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 or RAM House, 824 Campbell Avenue, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24016. There will be no visitation.
