Ira Buford Houston

Ira B. "Bill" Houston, age 84 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday morning, December 9, 2014. He was born July 26, 1930 a son of the late Albert and Evelyn Houston. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Gordon, Willie, Adrian, and Bob; and sisters, Frances Hutcherson and Dorothy Brooks. Bill was a United States Army Veteran who served his country in the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jo Emma Fralin Houston; children, Richard and Charlene Houston, Mary Jo and Jeff Johnston; grandchildren, Haden Johnston, Cora and Leah Houston; sisters, Doris Adkins, Shirley Woody, and Helen Scott; brother, Cecil Huston; sister-in-law, Ruth Houston; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Franklin Memorial Park with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County or to the Parkinson ?s Disease Foundation. The family will receive friends at the residence.
