Irene Anderson Arrington

Irene Anderson Arrington, age 89 of Rocky Mount went to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 2, 2010. She was born February 25, 1921 a daughter of the late John Anderson and Sally Ray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, M.L. “Buck” Arrington; siblings, Elsie Chitwood, Marvin, Chester and Arthur Anderson, Myrtle Holland. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Elmer and Brenda Arrington; grandson, Brian Arrington and wife Mandy; sister, Ann Swann of Fayetteville, NC; sister-in-law, Erma Anderson of Roanoke; many beloved nieces and nephews; her Woodlawn Baptist Church family and her telephone family. Special thanks to Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital for their care and concern during her short hospitalization. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 46 Woodlawn Drive, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with her family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, Rocky Mount.
