Irene G. Carter, age 90 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Carter; parents, Allen and Lillie Maud Hix Overstreet; five sisters; and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Carter; and son, Richard Carter and wife Darlene. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Franklin Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Dillion officiating. Her family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
