Irene C. McGuire, age 77 of Rocky Mount, went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, July 11, 2007.
She was born on October 20, 1929 a daughter of the late Cova and Pearl Hodges. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William T. McGuire.
Mrs. McGuire is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Joyce McGuire, Jimmy McGuire, Gary McGuire and Crystal Perdue; grandchildren, Melissa Hensley, Angel McGuire, Trista McGuire and Jamie McGuire; great-granddaughter, Ashley Bolling; sisters, Edith Wray, Gertrude Prater, Louise Lynch, Nannie Holland, Joyce Hudson, Elizabeth and Blaine Holcomb, Brenda and Wray Furrow all of Rocky Mount, Peggy Hawks of Axton, Maxine and Wayne Weeks of Salem; brother, Walter and Silvia Hodges of Rocky Mount; and special friend, Tyler Shively.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Thursday with her family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
