Iva Lee Jones Via

Iva Lee Jones Via went to be with the Lord about noon Friday the 30th of October 2015. Iva was born July 28, 1921, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Florence Ingram Jones and was also preceded in death by her late husband, Alvis Via, sisters, Mabel Ramsey and Irene Ramsey; one brother, Paul W. Jones; and one nephew, H.B. Ramsey . She and Alvis ran Via’s Grocery for many years in Henry, VA before moving to Rocky Mount where she still resided. She was a faithful member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church. She was blessed to have two nieces; Linda Guilliams and Trudy Cooper, one nephew Carlton Ramsey survive her. She was also blessed with three caretakers that stayed with her 24/7, Linda Bridgman, Lois Clanton, and Trudy Cooper. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. Monday with Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
