J. Carroll Ashby

J. Carroll Ashby of Franklin County, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born December 2, 1940. He leaves behind his wife, Shiree Ashby; daughter, Lisa Shepherd; and granddaughter, Abigail Shepherd (Justin Clyburn). Survivors also include brothers, Jimmy Ashby and wife Laura, Jerry Ashby and wife Gloria; sister, Shirley McBride and husband Billy; and special friends, Wayne Martin and Susan Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Georgie Ashby; and by his infant daughter, Donna. Those who knew Carroll knew him as a man who lead a full life filled with friends and family who loved him. He will be deeply missed by those he left behind. A viewing will be held at Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren on Friday, March 15 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Pastor Michael Gallimore will preside over the service on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. A meal will follow.
