Jack McLean Tuttle, age 87 of Rocky Mount died Monday, May 1, 2017. He was born December 19, 1929 in Germantown, NC and was preceded in death by his parents, Walter B. and Primmie May Holland Tuttle; three sisters, Pauline Morton, Page Dillon and Marie Lawrence; and extended family members, Sidney and Ida Holland, Peggy Morris (Bill), Barry Sarver, and John Henry Reece. Jack served his country in the United States Army. He and Mary operated Tuttle’s Exxon in Rocky Mount for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Hodges Tuttle; sister, Margaret Smith of Wilmington, NC; extended family, Carmen Sarver (Pat Patrick), Audrey Reece, Judy Bussey (Rabon), Tony S. Hodges, Jr., Ron Hodges (Peggy), Pat Martin (Dave), Donna Mitchell; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
