Jack Milton Walker

Jack M. Walker, age 83 of Glade Hill died Monday, August 22, 2011. He was born March 9, 1928 a son of the late Johnny Milton and Geneva Adkins Walker. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Sherman, Daniel, Harden, and Lynwood; sisters, Lona Doss, Blanche Doss, Rachel Jefferson, Ester Dillon and Matilda Amos. Jack enjoyed his appliance work and serving friends and neighbors. He loved his family and was a kind, gentle, and humble man. Jack loved his church family and joined Gills Creek Primitive Baptist Church on July 9, 1967 and became an ordained Deacon on July 13, 1991. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ruth P. Walker; children and their spouses, Gail W. and Jackie Hubbard, Joel N. and Delia Walker, Penny Walker, Kim W. and Jackie Hodges; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy Lee, Jane Carter. A special thanks to a good doctor and special friend, Dr. Jack Bumgardner and wife Barbara also a special son-in-law and caretaker, Jackie Hodges. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Elder Larry Hollandsworth and Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
