Jakeem Jhamal Muse

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jakeem Jhamal Muse, who departed this life on March 27, 2025, at the age of 27. Jakeem was a beloved son, brother, friend, and inspiration to all who knew him.

Born on January 2, 1998, Jakeem brought warmth and light into the lives of everyone he encountered. His kindness, resilience, and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in his journey. He had a deep love for family, a passion for his craft, he was a gamer and had a heart that embraced everyone with compassion and sincerity.

Jakeem's presence was a source of joy, and his spirit was of unshakable strength. Whether through his words, actions, or simply his radiant smile, he uplifted those around him and left the world better than he found it.

He is preceded in death by his father; George Edward “Gee-Money” Hall, his paternal grandparents; Samuel and Dorothy E. Hall. His maternal grandparents; Elwood Charles and Joanne Muse. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Kathy Muse. His siblings; Kevion Muse, Jayden Hall, Conner Hall and Kiante McKinney (Clyde). His nephews; Brayden McKinney and Dominique Mckinney. His aunts Donna Muse, Lori Muse, Lisa Muse, Christina Newbill (Elbert), Deirdre Gantt, and Tamara Hall. His uncles, Ray Tanks (Tina), and Edward Tanks. A host of cousins and his special friend Annemarie Garber.

Though Jakeem’s time with us was far too short, his impact will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest peacefully, Jakeem, until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2025. Interment will follow in the Muse Family Cemetery. His family will start receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The public may view 2:00-4:30 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
